National competition winning scheme for the creation of a specialist mountain bike centre in the Welsh valleys. The building was commissioned to service the high visitor numbers looking to cycle the trails. Dramatic high spaces are flooded with natural light and open out onto terraces.
This project began as a national competition which I entered privately. Following successfully getting short listed, I then offered the project to BBA Architects, who I was employed by at the time. We won the competition, in conjunction with Hale Construction and secured the project. I was the project architect responsible for the design. My role took it through the competition, planning permission, building regulations approval and on site involvement.
